The answer is actually simple: you need healthy and wholesome foods; to be more precise, fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Every meal you eat should include at least one fresh fruit or vegetable. You need to have enough fiber in your meals to enhance the detox process. As for proteins, consume nuts and beans. You’ve probably noticed that I describe a vegetarian diet here and it is no wonder – vegetarian meals would be ideal for liver detox. What about drinks? During the whole period of liver cleanse you need to drink at least 5 glasses of hot green tea daily. In addition to this doctors recommend another drink that can be prepared at home:

- 1 beet, or 1 / 3 cup of beet juice

- 1 peeled cucumber

- 1 lemon

- 1 apple

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

Pass the ingredients through a juicer. Add olive oil after that and shake thoroughly. Drink immediately after shaking because you need to not let the drink contact open air – oxygen contact will ruin the useful properties of the drink. Even a single glass of this drink will speed up the liver detoxification process tens of times. It will also give your skin and hair a healthy glowing.

If you liver is full of toxins (which is pretty common today), following a diet only is not enough; the majority of doctors advise to additionally take medicines to protect your liver during detoxification. It is also required to help liver retain its healthy state after getting rid of toxins and wastes. It will also prevent chronic inflammation and enhance self-cleansing of liver cells. If you think that liver detox diet is the way to go, then you need to follow a healthy diet for at least a month.

Do you really need to cleanse liver? Definitely; but keep in mind that normally it is recommended to detox liver after you do colon cleansing. Liver cleansing will bring balance and health to your body; and healthy foods you eat during the cleansing process can be counted as a good weight loss diet, because they normalize your metabolism and help to get rid of excessive fat.
