Every day we face many stressful situations in our lives. Sometimes, we think that we do not know what to do once we encounter a stressful situation. Luckily, the person’s body has in it the fight or flight response which allows the person to either escape from the situation at hand or face the impending danger. When we are over stressed we need to have time to relax because it triggers anxiety in us.
All work and no play can definitely lead a person to suffer from anxiety attacks. However, if we know how to handle and control these two our lives won’t be chaotic. But, once we know how to control and manage stress in our life we will never have to suffer from anxiety attacks. Once we learn to manage anxiety and stress we will no longer be easily shaken when difficult situations come our way.
The very first thing that we should do when we are stressed is to exercise. An exercise has been proven to reduce the adverse effects of anxiety and stress in an individual. Another method of relieving stress is to put on some relaxing music together with controlled breathing exercise. Think of happy thoughts and imagine good things, it will somehow alleviate anxieties. Once you notice that your mind is entertaining those negative thoughts once again, divert it back into something that will benefit you. Believe that positive thinking can be learned.
However, it would be best to consult a doctor or psychologist once you feel that your anxiety is already too much for you to bear. This way, you will be advised with the right method of treatment to ensure fast recovery from anxiety. If you truly want to get rid of anxiety make sure that you do everything in moderation. Practice good habits that make up one healthy lifestyle. Cigarette smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, drinking too much coffee and eating too much of sugary foods are surefire ways to anxiety attacks. If you find it hard to stop these habits immediately, make an effort to start reducing these habits until you learn to live without it.
